The mid-cycle update of the VW Touareg has now arrived in Portugal, being offered in the national market only in plug-in hybrid versions. With a relevant aesthetic renewal, largely ensured by the new lighting signature, highlighting the illuminated red VW logo at the rear, it has also gained the latest evolution of the fully digital instrument panel, and a faster and more intuitive infotainment system – while maintaining the excellent space offered to passengers and their luggage, courtesy of the generous exterior dimensions.
The engine has no news, which is not necessarily bad news: the combined output of 381 hp and 600 Nm ensures performance worthy of a sports car, and a level of ease and enjoyment of use, while also allowing to travel more than 50 km in 100% electric mode. The sophisticated suspension, with pneumatic damping, is synonymous with (very) comfort on any type of surface, and practically exemplary dynamic behavior, both on the road and off-road – to which the permanent all-wheel drive also contributes.
