VW T-Roc R Goes Black With New Range-Topping Special Edition

Volkswagen has unveiled the new T-Roc R Black Edition, an upgraded version of the regular T-Roc R. This sporty compact crossover features black exterior trim on the side mirror casings, roof rails, and other parts. It also comes with 19-inch Estoril alloys with a black finish for a sleek look.

One of the standout features of the T-Roc R Black Edition is the addition of a large sliding panoramic sunroof, perfect for enjoying the open air while driving. Inside, the compact crossover offers heated front seats and a Beats audio system with a digital eight-channel amplifier, subwoofer, and six speakers. The standard reversing camera provides added convenience.

Under the hood, the T-Roc R Black Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI gasoline engine, delivering 296 hp and 295 pound-foot of torque. Paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission and the brand’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, this crossover can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph.

If you’re interested in purchasing the T-Roc R Black Edition, it will cost you £44,250 (approximately $56,480) including VAT. The order books will open on August 15, 2024. Meanwhile, the regular T-Roc R has become more affordable, starting at £43,000 ($54,885), a reduction of £2,550 ($3,255).

In addition to the T-Roc R and the Black Edition, the Volkswagen T-Roc family offers other trim levels. The regular Black Edition starts at £35,390 ($45,170), followed by the R-Line at £34,405 ($43,915), the Style at £31,220 ($39,850), and the Match at £28,505 ($36,385). The most affordable variant is the Life, priced at £28,330 ($36,160) and equipped with a 1.0L TSI engine producing 113 hp. The 1.5L TSI engine with 148 hp starts at £29,900 ($38,165) with a manual transmission or £31,640 ($40,385) with a 7-speed DSG.

Unfortunately, the T-Roc is not available in the United States. However, Volkswagen offers the larger Taos crossover with a starting price of $23,995. But if you’re looking for a smaller and more stylish option, the T-Roc may be worth considering.
