VW has announced the start of production of the updated Golf, a model that is celebrating 50 years, and has already sold over 37 million units since its launch.
The eighth generation of the model, now updated, is easily recognized by its modernized front end. Among the visually defining features of the updated Golf are the LED headlights with a new design. The top-of-the-line IQ.Light lighting, with LED matrix headlights, incorporates a new high-performance main beam with a very long range. For the first time in a European VW, the brand logo on the front grille is also illuminated. The IQ.Light taillights also received a new design, both in the Golf and Golf Variant.
The interior features a new generation of infotainment system with even faster processors, an independent 12.9’’ touchscreen.
The touch controls for temperature and volume control are now illuminated. The latest generation of the digital instrument panel is included as standard. Also new is the multifunction steering wheel with easy-to-use buttons and the IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT function integration.
The range of engines includes the well-known TSI, TDI, and eTSI mild hybrid units, and also offers two new plug-in hybrids with an electric range of over 100 km.
VW has already announced that the updated Golf will hit the market in the beginning of the second half of the year.
