VW is celebrating the 50 years of the iconic Golf and in addition to launching a special edition of the model, it has now decided to take the celebrations to the skies of Turkey.
To achieve this, the German brand unveiled a hot air balloon with a unique design, which was launched on the first day of September, along with hundreds of other balloons during the famous sunrise in the skies of Cappadocia, Turkey.
Accompanied by an original Golf Mk I and the updated Golf Mk 8, the Sultan Series PH-370 balloon ascended into the skies over the Valley of Love in Cappadocia, carrying 16 passengers on board and visible to thousands of tourists who gather in the region every morning to witness this attraction.
It is worth noting that designer Giorgetto Giugiaro was the author of the original design of the Golf Mk I, which debuted in 1974. This model has evolved over eight generations and more than 50 years, becoming VW’s most successful car to date, with over 37 million units sold worldwide.
