The French software group Dassault Systèmes announced this Tuesday that it has entered into a long-term partnership with the VW Group to accelerate the transition of the German automaker to next-generation vehicles defined by software.
In a statement, Dassault Systèmes clarified that VW chose the 3DEXPERIENC platform, a cloud-based technology solution designed to streamline vehicle development processes, as the main foundation for engineering and production.
This new platform will enable engineers and designers from brands like VW, Audi, and Porsche to leverage virtual twin experiences. This technological innovation allows for minimizing engineering and production cycle times. By using this virtual environment, teams can simulate, test, and refine vehicle designs, ensuring compliance with global regulations and sustainability standards before physical production begins.
“VW selected our platform to standardize engineering and production across the group, with the aim of accelerating development time and the transition to new software-defined vehicles,” said Dassault’s CFO, Rouven Bergmann, at a press conference.
