VW celebra 50 anos do Polo com vídeo radical que aponta ao futuro

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Polo, VW showcases the sporty spirit of the small model in a ‘drift’ video, where the Polo R WRC and the R Supercar, both featuring a Harlekin paint chosen by fans, as well as the electric Polo RX1e, demonstrate their full potential in controlled drifts.

Behind the wheel of the three sportiest Polo models is Johan Kristoffersson, who accelerates to the max in unexpected locations around the Polo factory in South Africa.

Over the 50 years, the VW Polo has achieved great feats, becoming one of the most recognized models of the brand, as well as one of the most successful. In everyday life or in competition, with numerous titles in the World Rally Championship and the World Rallycross Championship.

“In our communications about the Polo’s anniversary, we want not only to look back at the past but also to the future and generate excitement for the VW brand. That is why we deliberately decided to present the first appearance of the ID. Polo¹ in a spectacular and surprising way. This video represents everything that is essential in the Polo: a small car capable of great feats and oriented towards the future”, said Jens Katemann, Director of Brand Communication for Volkswagen and the Brand Group Core.

At the end of the video, the fully electric successor appears surprisingly: the new ID. Polo is welcomed by its sporty predecessors and takes the stage as the latest member of the Polo family, which promises to write the next chapter in the history of the Polo after 50 years of success.
