Volvo Car Portugal announced that in May it achieved its best monthly performance ever with 775 units registered.
During the period under review, Volvo’s sales in Portugal increased by 63% compared to the same period last year. It is worth noting that 80% of total sales were for electrified models, with 36% being 100% electric vehicles.
“This month’s sales prove that we can aim for at least a 15% growth in 2024. I am very pleased to see another month of solid growth, which is a testament to the strength of our brand”, emphasized Björn Annwall, Commercial Director of Volvo Cars
On a global level, the Swedish brand once again recorded an excellent performance with 68,034 units registered, representing a 13% growth compared to last year.
During the period under review, the sale of Volvo’s electrified models increased by 37% compared to the previous year and accounted for 48% of the total. The penetration rate of 100% electric models was already 26% of the total.
From January to May, Volvo has already sold 316,559 vehicles worldwide, representing a 15% growth compared to 2023.
