Volvo announced that it achieved its best year ever globally in 2024, with 763,389 units registered, representing an 8% increase compared to 2023.
The Swedish brand also revealed that the share of sales from its electrified vehicle range significantly increased, with 175,194 units registered last year, a 54% rise compared to 2023, already accounting for 23% of the total sales of the Swedish brand, while plug-in hybrid models saw a 16% growth compared to the same period last year, totaling 177,593 units.
The best-selling model globally for Volvo was the XC60, with 230,853 units registered.
In Portugal, Volvo’s sales in 2024 also marked their best year ever, with the brand delivering 7,005 units (6,998 registrations), representing a 36.7% increase compared to 2023.
Almost half of the vehicles delivered were 100% electric models, totaling 3,205, which accounts for 46% of the total units registered by the Swedish brand in Portugal, while 2,474 registrations were for plug-in models.
Contributing to these results for Volvo in the national market was the 100% electric EX30, with 2,518 units registered.
