Volkswagen ID.7 recebe cinco estrelas do Euro NCAP

The new Volkswagen ID.7 100% electric vehicle achieved the maximum five-star rating in another round of Euro NCAP tests, the leading independent vehicle safety assessment program in Europe.

The ID.7 performed very well throughout the entire safety testing process, reflecting the active and passive safety technologies equipped in the vehicle.

Thus, the Volkswagen’s 100% electric model obtained the best rating, 95% in adult protection, 88% in child protection, an evaluation of 83% in protecting vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists, while in the safety assistance systems category it obtained a rating of 80%.

Euro NCAP praised the behavior of the EV9 in passenger protection due to the stability observed in the frontal impact test, as well as the automatic emergency braking systems that can protect the vulnerability of pedestrians and cyclists in imminent collision situations. In addition, the examiners attach great importance to the presence of driver safety and assistance systems, such as

driver alertness monitoring; adaptive cruise control; lane-keeping assistant; autonomous emergency braking; Front Assist with pedestrian and cyclist recognition; Park Assist Plus with memory function; rear traffic alert; rearview camera; or traffic sign recognition.

Remember that the ID.7 is Volkswagen’s 100% electric sedan, the flagship of the brand’s electric models, equipped with a single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. Installed on the rear axle, and capable of delivering 286 hp and 545 Nm, it is the most powerful motor ever mounted on a 100% electric VW.

To power it, two battery options are available, both capable of recovering 80% of their capacity in just 25 minutes at fast charging stations, which are preheated to avoid any damage. In the ID.7 Pro, the battery has a capacity of 82 kWh (77 kWh usable), provides a range of around 615 kilometers, and is capable of receiving fast charging up to 170 kW; in the ID.7 Pro S, it offers 91 kWh of capacity (86 kWh usable), has thirteen modules (instead of the usual twelve), can receive fast charging up to 200 kW, and guarantees a range of up to 700 kilometers.
