Electric mobility does not want to leave anyone out, and Volkswagen has now announced that it is supporting the Vatican City State in the transition to sustainable mobility, and that in early 2024, it will deliver about 40 100% electric vehicles from the ID. family in a fleet composed of models from the ID.3, ID.4, and ID.5 ranges.
The vehicles are part of the Vatican’s decarbonization strategy, aiming for carbon neutrality of the fleet by 2030. To achieve this, the current fleet of existing vehicles must be gradually replaced by electric units, making the entire fleet emissions-neutral.
“The electrification of fleets is becoming increasingly important worldwide. It is a great honor for our brand that Vatican employees are now also among the drivers of our ID. vehicles, which also highlights the attractiveness of our fully electric models,” said Imelda Labbé, member of the Board of Management for Marketing, Sales, and After Sales at Volkswagen, during the delivery of the ID.3 vehicles in Vatican City.
