In fact, their defense ranked first in expected points added (EPA) per play for 10 weeks last season.
When asked about the unique appearance of the scheme, Jones explained that it creates the illusion of one-on-one matchups without the presence of a post safety or Cover-2. However, he emphasized that it is indeed a strategic approach and not as straightforward as it may seem.
The Giants’ decision to interview Jones demonstrates their recognition of his impressive coaching abilities.
