Vídeo: Toto Wolff aconselha George Russell a manter o foco após perder o segundo lugar para Lando Norris no Grande Prémio do Canadá.

George Russell conquered his second pole position in Formula 1 at the Canadian Grand Prix. Russell and Toto Wolff arrived at the race weekend with modifications to the suspension and improvements to both cars. These improvements proved beneficial, as Russell secured pole position in an exciting duel on Saturday. However, his luck did not hold up on race day, as he lost several positions after the pit stop and received instructions from Wolff to focus on his race.

Russell secured pole position on the 4.3-kilometer track with a time of 1:12:000, equaling his competitor’s time. The British driver was thrilled with his achievement and expressed his desire to win the Canadian Grand Prix. However, he struggled at the start of the race, holding up faster cars for a period of time, but this strategy did not pay off in the end.

During the tire change, Russell was in second place but ended up losing control of his Mercedes W15, resulting in the loss of P2. Wolff intervened to calm Russell down and advised him to stay focused. This guidance from his team leader was praised by the young British driver, who regained his composure and secured his first podium of the season.

Although Russell was the fastest driver during qualifying, he lagged behind his teammate in the free practice sessions. Recognizing this, he held a meeting with his engineer and analyzed his teammate’s telemetry to understand where the seven-time world champion was gaining an advantage. Russell explained how studying the data from his teammate’s laps helped him improve the performance of his own car. He also expressed satisfaction with the improvements to the W15, stating that the car was excellent.

Despite Russell’s tremendous efforts, Verstappen emerged as the winner. This resulted in the Mercedes duo finishing in strong positions, accumulating a significant number of points for the team.
