Alexander Albon is out of the São Paulo Formula 1 Grand Prix. His crash during this morning’s qualifying at Interlagos prevents the driver from participating in this afternoon’s race.
Up until the moment of impact, the Anglo-Thai Williams driver was showing a promising performance, aiming for a top-five position. However, with less than four minutes remaining, everything took a turn for the worse.
While braking for the Senna S, Albon slightly touched the green area by the wall, causing a loss of grip that was enough for him to lose control and crash heavily.
Although Albon was uninjured, the same cannot be said for his car: the damage was so severe that repairs couldn’t be completed in time for him to join this afternoon’s race. As a result, only 19 drivers will start.
