Sergio Perez and Pierre Gasly had a collision at the beginning of the Canadian GP, causing the Alpine car to spin. The race has been challenging for Red Bull so far, with one driver eliminated in Q1 and the other facing issues during the session. Unfortunately, things got worse for Perez during the main race. He started in P16 and faced visibility issues due to spray from cars ahead in wet conditions. Perez made contact with Gasly’s Alpine while trying to overtake him. This resulted in Gasly’s car spinning and Perez briefly going off track.
Prior to the race, there was heavy rain and most drivers opted for intermediate tires. The Haas cars chose full wet tires. As the track started to dry, the Haas cars made a pit stop for intermediates, but Perez was still struggling with wet sections. Despite having a fast car, he remained in fifteenth place. Perez expressed his difficulty with the wet sections to the Red Bull team.
Perez hoped to improve and gain positions during the race, but there was a possibility of rain returning later. This meant Perez could face a challenging and long race in Montreal to secure crucial points for Red Bull.
