Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton are iconic figures in the world of Formula 1. They have been involved in numerous intense battles on the track, fighting for victories and championships over the years. Especially during the years 2017 and 2018, when Vettel was driving for Ferrari, their rivalry reached its peak. However, off the track, the two drivers have an incredibly friendly relationship and have a great mutual respect for each other.

Both Vettel and Hamilton are widely considered two of the greatest drivers to ever compete in Formula 1. This sentiment was reinforced when Vettel, during a recent quickfire round with Talk Sport, was asked how he would describe his archrival Hamilton in one word. The four-time world champion chose the word “GOAT,” which stands for “Greatest of All Time.” This choice of word surprised many.

Vettel further explained that he used the term “GOAT” to describe Hamilton because, statistically, the British driver is the best in Formula 1 history. This statement by Vettel sparked discussions among fans and experts, all acknowledging the greatness of both drivers.

During the early 2010s, Vettel and Hamilton had one of the most intense rivalries in Formula 1. They often competed for world championships in 2010 and 2012. Even in the later stages of Vettel’s career, their rivalry remained fierce, as evidenced by the intense duel in Japan during Vettel’s final season in the sport. Vettel expressed that Hamilton has always been a formidable competitor, and their close championships and thrilling moments provided exciting races.

Vettel also emphasized how prolific Hamilton has been throughout his career and how he always had to give his best when competing against him. The rivalry between these two drivers was truly captivating, and fans would certainly love to witness it again. Rumors even emerged linking Vettel to a possible seat at Mercedes for the 2025 season, adding even more intrigue to their potential future battles.
