VIDEO – Red Bull Blunder: Max Verstappen’s Pitlane Drama Unleashes Chaos at Miami GP Sprint

Max Verstappen Blames Red Bull for Pitlane Crash in Miami GP Sprint Race

In a heart-stopping turn of events at the Miami GP Sprint race, Max Verstappen pointed fingers at his own team, Red Bull, for a pitlane collision that cost him dearly against Kimi Antonelli. The race was a tumultuous affair from the start, with rain causing chaos and even a red flag halting the proceedings. The drama unfolded further as Charles Leclerc crashed on his way to the grid, setting the stage for an intense competition.

Despite his reputation for mastering tricky conditions, reigning world champion Max Verstappen faced his own challenges, running off track during the formation lap. However, it was the pitlane collision with Kimi Antonelli that truly shook the race. Starting from fourth place, Verstappen found himself in third after an incident between Antonelli and Oscar Piastri at Turn 1.

As the track dried up, Red Bull made the call for Verstappen to switch to slicks. However, a critical error by the Red Bull crew led to his premature release into the path of Antonelli, resulting in a damaging collision that forced Verstappen to leave the pits without completing his stop. The FIA imposed a ten-second penalty on Verstappen, plummeting him to P17 and jeopardizing his race prospects.

In the aftermath of the sprint race, Max Verstappen minced no words in attributing blame to his team, acknowledging that the premature release was a “very sloppy” mistake. The incident not only proved costly for Verstappen but also raised safety concerns, highlighting the need for meticulous pitlane procedures to prevent such mishaps in the future.

Kimi Antonelli, who was already enduring a challenging race, expressed relief that no one was hurt in the collision. He absolved Verstappen of any fault, emphasizing that the Dutch driver adhered to the pitlane protocol and that he made every effort to avoid a potentially disastrous crash that could have endangered the pit crews.

The pitlane incident served as a stark reminder of the fine margins in Formula 1 racing, where split-second errors can have far-reaching consequences. Red Bull now faces scrutiny to rectify the pitlane procedures and uphold the safety of all personnel involved in the high-octane sport. As the dust settles on the Miami GP Sprint race, the spotlight remains on Red Bull’s handling of the situation and the imperative of flawless execution in the fast-paced world of Formula 1.
