Denny Hamlin had accidents in every stage of the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The veteran driver, known for his success in Superspeedway races, had a disappointing finish in 23rd place. Throughout the race, Hamlin was involved in several incidents, including a three-car photo finish with a margin of 0.002 seconds. Each of his accidents occurred at different stages of the race, making it a unique occurrence. Despite these setbacks, Hamlin managed to secure a spot among the top 25. However, he expressed his disappointment with how the race unfolded for him.
The first incident involving Hamlin occurred in the first stage. His former teammate, who now drives for RCR, bumped him from behind and spun him out. This resulted in the No. 11 Toyota falling to the back of the grid. Hamlin gradually climbed up the field, only to be involved in another accident on the final lap of the second stage. This time, he collided with a Cup champion twice and another former teammate, causing him to face more setbacks.
Later in the race, Hamlin was involved in another incident when the Stewart Haas Racing driver made contact with him while attempting to race four-wide. This collision resulted in a liquid spill, forcing NASCAR to temporarily halt the race. Hamlin expressed his helplessness in avoiding these incidents, stating that he had no other options in certain situations.
Looking ahead to the next race in Vegas, Hamlin will be aiming to secure a victory and position himself as a championship contender. With the Superspeedway races behind them, teams will have more time to focus on developing their cars for the upcoming short track and intermediate events.
