Monaco GP FP1 Drama: Leclerc Dominates with Stroll Clash

In a thrilling start to the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc stole the show in the first practice session, leaving fans on the edge of their seats. The reigning Monaco GP champion faced initial challenges with the SF-25’s known issues in low-speed corners but managed to shine despite a messy beginning.

The session took an unexpected turn when a clash between Leclerc and Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll shook the circuit. Stroll’s misjudgment led to a collision that left Leclerc with a damaged front wing, causing chaos and bringing out the red flag. While Leclerc’s wing was swiftly replaced, Stroll’s session came to a premature end due to necessary gearbox repairs.

Meanwhile, McLaren’s duo showed impressive speed, with Lando Norris securing the third spot behind Leclerc and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Williams continued their strong performance with Alex Albon in fourth and Carlos Sainz in seventh, showcasing their potential in the challenging Monaco circuit.

The session wasn’t without its share of incidents, as new Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton faced challenges throughout. Despite early competitiveness on medium tires, Hamilton struggled on softer compounds and had a few close calls, including a brush with the wall at the Swimming Pool chicane.

As the session concluded, Leclerc topped the timesheets with a blistering 1m11.964s lap, followed closely by Verstappen and Norris. The intense competition and unexpected twists set the stage for an action-packed weekend in Monaco, keeping fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming sessions and the main race.

Stay tuned for more updates and insights as the Monaco Grand Prix unfolds, promising more excitement and drama on the iconic street circuit.
