VIDEO – Max Verstappen’s Hilarious GT3 Champagne Fumble Leaves Fans in Stitches as Video Goes Viral

Max Verstappen’s GT3 Celebration Takes a Hilarious Turn: Fans Can’t Stop Laughing!

In a scene that has left motorsport fans rolling in laughter, Max Verstappen, the reigning four-time Formula 1 champion, found himself in a comical predicament during his GT3 victory celebration at the legendary Nordschleife. After clinching the win in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie alongside his British teammate Chris Lulham, all eyes were on Verstappen as he prepared for the traditional champagne shower. However, what unfolded next was pure comedy gold!

As he fumbled with the champagne bottle, trying to pop the cork, viewers were treated to a moment of pure hilarity. “And you’d think he knows his way round a champagne bottle by now considering all the practice he’s had in F1,” quipped one amused fan in response to the viral video. Another chimed in, “All that podium time in F1, still having a hard time opening a champagne!”

Verstappen, who has celebrated a staggering 120 podium finishes in Formula 1, found himself in unfamiliar territory. In F1, the corks are typically loosened before the drivers receive their bottles. This time, however, he faced the challenge of uncaging and uncorking it himself—a task that left him momentarily stumped. “GT3 you have to open the bottle yourself hahaha only thing he wasn’t prepared for,” noted a commenter, while another jested, “He’s a rookie; it’s his first win maybe he doesn’t know how to spray champagne yet.”

Despite the light-hearted mishap, Verstappen’s debut victory in the GT3 series was nothing short of spectacular. Starting from third on the grid, he charged ahead and seized the lead before the first turn, showcasing his undeniable talent. After handing over the car to Lulham, who expertly brought it home for the win, the duo celebrated a remarkable achievement. Following them in second place was the trio of Dennis Fetzer, Jann Mardenborough, and Fabio Scherer in the No. 9 Ford Mustang GT3 for Haupt Racing Team, while Vincent Kolb and Frank Stippler secured third in the No. 6 Ford Mustang GT3.

Reflecting on his triumph, Verstappen remarked, “It was great. During my first two stints, the car was amazing. After qualifying, I knew the car would be good on a dry track. Everything went well in terms of traffic, and we didn’t make any big mistakes. To win my debut race here is amazing.”

With his sights now set on the 18th round of the 2025 Formula 1 championship in Singapore, Verstappen is riding a wave of momentum after securing back-to-back victories in the Italian and Azerbaijan Grands Prix. The stakes are high as he prepares to face fierce competition from McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

In a sport that thrives on high-octane drama and unexpected twists, Verstappen’s champagne struggle has provided an unexpected moment of levity, proving that even the best can have a laugh along the way. Fans are eagerly anticipating his next move—both on and off the track!
