In a heart-stopping turn of events during the final practice session before the Indy 500 qualifying rounds, Marcus Armstrong of Meyer Shank Racing sent shockwaves through the NTT IndyCar Series by crashing into the wall at Turn 1.
Armstrong’s #66 entry lost control, sending him spinning 180 degrees before colliding with the outside SAFER barrier with the left rear of his car. The impact was so intense that he slid down the track and came to a halt at Turn 2, prompting an immediate response from the AMR safety crew.
