VIDEO – Late Collision Ruins Podium Charge as Félix da Costa Slips to Eighth at Miami E-Prix

António Félix da Costa’s bid for a podium at the Miami E-Prix ended in frustration after a late-race collision knocked the Jaguar driver out of the top three and down to eighth place in the third round of the Formula E World Championship.

Starting from third on the grid and briefly leading the race, the Portuguese driver was executing a controlled, strategic run. With three laps remaining, Félix da Costa was running third when contact from Felipe Drugovich (Andretti) sent him tumbling through the order.

He crossed the line 18.903 seconds behind the winner, Mitch Evans (Jaguar), who secured victory ahead of Nico Müller (Porsche) in second and Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche) in third.

“The Contact Ended That Possibility”

Félix da Costa was clear about what the incident cost him:

“It was a very well-managed race. I didn’t have the pace to win, but I did have the pace to secure third place. The contact ended that possibility.”

The setback continues a difficult trend for the Jaguar driver, marking his third incident in three races this season.

Championship Picture After Miami

Following the Miami round, Nick Cassidy (Citroën) leads the championship with 40 points, just two points ahead of Wehrlein. Félix da Costa sits 14th overall with four points.

The championship resumes in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in two weeks, where Félix da Costa will look to turn strong pace into a clean result after another race where a podium slipped away late.

A strong start.
A race under control.
And then, one decisive hit that changed everything.
