Kyle Busch is not worried about the penalty faced by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion had a tough week at the All-Star race in North Wilkesboro. He had a bad race, starting with a collision on the first lap with Stenhouse, which resulted in Stenhouse crashing on the following lap. After the race, Busch and Stenhouse had a heated confrontation, with Stenhouse even punching Busch. Stenhouse was fined $75,000 by NASCAR, which many in the racing community thought was too harsh.
When asked about the penalty before the Coca Cola 600 race, Busch did not express an opinion on the severity of the penalty or whether Stenhouse deserved more. He also stated that his view of the incident itself has not changed. He mentioned that it could have been avoided, but the situation escalated too quickly for him to react.
During the same interview, Busch stated that he does not want to get involved in on-track fights with Stenhouse. He wants to focus on winning races again and knows he needs to overcome battles in the middle of the pack and start challenging the top three drivers.
RCR has struggled to elevate Busch from the battles in the middle of the pack and get him back to winning form. As a result, Busch and Stenhouse will likely continue to face off throughout the season. It will be interesting to see how this rivalry unfolds in the upcoming races.
