A drag race between a Koenigsegg Agera RST, one of the most beautiful combustion engine sports cars, and a purebred 100% electric vehicle like the Tesla Model X Plaid is something that speed enthusiasts do not want to miss.
The team from ‘Carwow‘ decided to take both models to the track and put them head-to-head. The Koenigsegg Agera RST is equipped with a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 1360 hp and 1570 Nm of maximum torque, all for a total weight of 1,395 kg.
Meanwhile, the Tesla, with Matt Watson at the wheel, is equipped with three electric motors that allow for a combined power of 1020 hp and a maximum torque of 1420 Nm, with a weight of 2,460 kg.
It remains to be seen if the greater power of the Koenigsegg is enough to beat the 100% electric Tesla Model X Plaid in this truly thrilling challenge.
As seen in the ¼ mile drag race, and after two attempts, the electric Tesla Model X Plaid edged out the Koenigsegg Agera RST at the finish line, with both models covering the distance in the same time of 10.29 seconds.
In the second race, launched, the Model X Plaid once again came out on top, showcasing all its power and surprising the Agera RST.
In a second attempt, the Koenigsegg showcased all its power, coming out on top against the Tesla. However, in a repeat of the race launched with the Agera in third gear, the Model X Plaid ended up being faster.
Finally, in the braking test at around 110 km/h, the Koenigsegg demonstrated its braking capability, managing to stop before the Tesla Model X Plaid.
