Jeff Gordon recently had a funny encounter with a fan during an autograph session. Hendrick Motorsports has been home to numerous notable stars in the sport over the years. From past drivers to current ones, the team has built a large fan base and often organizes fan interaction events. Before the Coca-Cola 600, a fan surprised Chase Elliott by asking him to autograph a baby. Despite the unexpected request, the 2020 Cup champion carefully signed the baby’s shirt with his initials. Jeff Gordon was also filmed autographing a baby, mimicking the actions of the No. 9 Chavy Camaro XZZL1 driver. During an autograph session, a fan approached Gordon on stage, and it was clear that he understood what was about to happen. He even joked about how Chase Elliott was the reason for this unusual occurrence before signing the crying baby. Later, the four-time NASCAR Cup champion shared the video on X, playfully mentioning Chase Elliott in the caption and stating that he had to demonstrate the proper way to autograph a baby. This weekend was particularly significant for Hendrick Motorsports as they fully supported their debut in the Indy 500 with Arrow McLaren, sponsoring cars. Jeff Gordon oversaw HMS team operations in Indy while Larson competed in the Coke 600. Kyle Larson had a strong race, consistently competing in the top ten throughout the day. However, due to a speeding penalty, he ended up finishing in 18th place. Nevertheless, he managed to secure the Rookie of the Year award, which made Gordon proud. Unfortunately, Jeff Gordon’s team was not prepared for the unpredictable weather conditions, preventing Kyle Larson from switching places in the Coca-Cola 600. The race was shortened due to rain, and now their focus is on obtaining NASCAR approval to allow Larson to continue competing for the championship.
