Lando Norris achieved his first victory in Formula 1 after a long period of five years. The entire Formula 1 community exploded with joy and celebration for Norris’s remarkable achievement. The 24-year-old driver secured his first win in a race, marking a significant moment in his career that began in 2019. This victory was especially notable as it occurred in the midst of Red Bull’s dominant campaign. Among the crowd of jubilant supporters, the Ferrari boss could be seen, who was among the most enthusiastic supporters of Norris’s triumph.

Norris seized the perfect opportunity to claim a race victory after an incident involving Logan Sargeant and Kevin Magnussen. The 24-year-old driver skillfully defended his competitors, including one who was already struggling to handle his RB20. The McLaren team celebrated their driver’s first win in grand style, with several people, including the CEO of McLaren, taking part in the festivities. A notable moment was when Fred Vasseur, wearing a special edition blue Ferrari shirt, caught the McLaren cap thrown to him by the CEO and proudly wore it to celebrate the occasion. Vasseur further heightened the joyful atmosphere by popping champagne and showering the McLaren team with it, adding to the overall jubilation surrounding Norris’s victory.

Ferrari has consistently shown strong performance throughout the season, securing the second position in the constructors’ championship. The Italian team has been locked in a fierce competition with McLaren since the beginning of the season. Fred Vasseur acknowledged the competitiveness of McLaren and their closeness to his team. He specifically recalled McLaren’s attempt to surpass Ferrari during the Australian GP, where Carlos Sainz came close to victory at the end of the race.

Despite the defeat, Vasseur expressed his genuine happiness for Norris’ first victory. The 55-year-old driver congratulated the British driver for his extraordinary achievement at the Miami GP. Vasseur revealed that the Ferrari team approached McLaren to celebrate the victory together in the paddock, emphasizing the unity and camaraderie between the teams. He also mentioned that the whole team shared in the joy of Norris’ victory, further highlighting the collective happiness surrounding the success of the 24-year-old driver.

Looking ahead, Ferrari plans to introduce several upgrades to their challenging SF-24 during the upcoming Emilia-Romagna GP. With three different constructors already securing victories this season and consistently closing the gap at the front, the 2024 season promises to be exciting for fans as rival teams continue to challenge Red Bull’s dominance.
