Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin had a tumultuous relationship, even when they were teammates in Superspeedways. They had a tough day at Atlanta Motor Speedway, with both drivers suffering accidents and spins. Interestingly, Hamlin crashed once in each of the three stages, completing a triple crown of races. Two of the incidents involved his former teammates, the two-time Cup champions.
Kyle Busch from Richard Childress Racing was the first to put Hamlin in a challenging situation. In the first stage, they made contact when Hamlin tried to change to the inside lane, thinking he had enough space. However, Busch, who was driving alongside him, made him spin in the AMS grass. Fortunately, both cars escaped serious damage.
This incident seems to confirm Busch’s previous comments about racing or drafting with Hamlin in Superspeedways. He stated that Hamlin often makes sudden and drastic changes, ruining the timing and causing incidents.
Despite the accidents, Hamlin finished the race in 23rd place, while Busch had an impressive performance and secured a third place, only 0.007 seconds behind the winner in an exciting three-car photo finish. Busch managed to join the battle in the final laps with the help of Hamlin’s driver in the No. 23 23XI Toyota.
NASCAR fans took to social media to express their opinions about the incident. Some commented on NASCAR’s official page, which shared a video of the incident. The reactions were mixed, but the majority seemed to support Busch over Hamlin.
Certain fans also took the opportunity to criticize the Fox Sports commentator who blamed Busch for the incident. Many disagreed with this perspective from the former RCR driver.
It seems like Kyle Busch is using his usual dirty tactics.
Denny Hamlin seems to be lacking the necessary skills.
Let’s make things clear.
Denny caused the accident by himself.
We need to get rid of Boyer! He’s always overshadowing Mike.
Hamlin literally turned left and hit Kyle Busch. Clint Boyer claims “Kyle Busch turned him.”
The loud noise during pit stops is terrible. My grandpa and I miss being able to hear our wives.
