Formula 1 star kicks off British GP weekend with 1,000hp burnout stunt that turns heads and ignites Stowe corner in smoke and style
SILVERSTONE, UK — Lando Norris didn’t just arrive at Silverstone—he announced his presence with smoke, fury, and full-throttle flair.
In a jaw-dropping display of power and personality, the McLaren Formula 1 star tore up the tarmac ahead of his home Grand Prix weekend, delivering a monster burnout aboard a custom-built, 1,000-horsepower Nissan GTR drift car — all while perched on the back of a military-grade flatbed truck.
The crowd at Stowe corner erupted as Norris lit up the tires in a scene straight out of motorsport fantasy. The custom widebody GTR — fitted with a Liberty Walk kit and wrapped in a one-of-a-kind livery inspired by his all-new Monster Energy can — screamed defiance with every spin of the rear wheels.
“Kicking off my home race weekend like this has been awesome,” Norris said. “Always fun when Monster are involved — and even better getting to do something the fans can enjoy too.”
“The livery’s mega! Seeing it on a GTR and rocking up in a military truck is pretty wild. Getting behind the wheel of it and spinning up some smoke — loved it.”
From London to Silverstone: The Monster Convoy Takes Over
Earlier this week, the eye-popping convoy made its way from the streets of central London to Lando’s home turf at Silverstone Circuit. Bystanders from Westminster to Piccadilly were left stunned as the monster-liveried Nissan GTR and its brute of a flatbed escort blazed a path across the capital.
Wrapped in the bold, electrified graphics of Norris’ new Monster Energy can, the convoy brought horsepower and attitude in equal measure. Fans lining the route got more than just a glimpse — lucky few walked away with limited-edition cans of Monster to fuel their own race-day buzz.
A Wild Warm-Up Before the Real Battle Begins
With the 2025 British Grand Prix weekend just kicking off, this tire-shredding stunt wasn’t just about spectacle — it was a statement. Norris is back on home soil, backed by thousands of roaring fans, and riding the wave of his best-ever F1 season.
While others are focused on qualifying setups and strategy sheets, Norris fired his first shot of the weekend in a cloud of smoke and style.
The British ace will now shift focus to track action at Silverstone, but one thing’s for certain: he’s already stolen the show before the lights have even gone out.
