Bubba Wallace falls in championship standings

finds himself in a tough spot once again in the 2024 NASCAR Cup season. He had a strong start to the season before facing back-to-back setbacks. However, he was able to bounce back and perform well before the races at Talladega and Dover. Unfortunately, these two race weeks turned into a nightmare for him as he suffered consecutive Did Not Finish (DNF) results.

On both occasions, Bubba Wallace was the first driver to be taken out due to a poor decision by his competitor, resulting in multiple cars being involved in the incidents. At Talladega, it was an unidentified driver who caused a wreck involving all the Toyota cars, and at Dover, it was another driver who spun Wallace’s No. 23 car. This incident not only ruined Wallace’s day but also affected other drivers.

After being released from the track’s medical center following the crash, Wallace expressed his disappointment with the outcome. He acknowledged that two consecutive DNFs were not something his team deserved. However, the TRD driver remains hopeful that he can bounce back in Kansas, where he has already won a Cup race.

Before discussing his expectations for Kansas, Wallace mentioned that Bootie Baker had warned him that Dover would be a tougher challenge than Talladega last Monday. Despite having to fight to get back into the top-10 on Sunday, he unfortunately ended up with a DNF.

There are still 15 races left in the season for Wallace to make a comeback, but Kansas next week presents the best opportunity for him. 23XI Racing has been the strongest team at this track in the Next-Gen era. With Wallace currently outside the top 16 in the points standings, he needs to stand out and deliver in the next race.
