VIDEO: Bubba Wallace Admits to ‘Greedy’ Move on Brad Keselowski at Bowman Gray, Issues Apology

NASCAR’s return to Bowman Gray Stadium was always going to be a contact sport, and Bubba Wallace found himself right in the thick of the action. The 23XI Racing driver, fresh off a career-best season in 2024, fought his way to a solid fifth-place finish in Sunday’s Cook Out Clash—but not without controversy.

💥 The Incident: Wallace Spins Keselowski on Lap 121

Wallace, who started 14th in the 23-car field, had been methodically working his way forward when he found himself behind Brad Keselowski just past the halfway point.

✅ Lap 120: Wallace sat in eighth place, closely following Ryan Blaney and Keselowski.
✅ Lap 121: As Keselowski attempted to move down the track, Wallace dove into the gap—but miscalculated and sent the No. 6 Ford spinning.
✅ Keselowski never recovered, finishing a disappointing 21st despite starting the race inside the top five.

🎤 Wallace’s Post-Race Apology

Unlike some of the other bumper battles at the Madhouse, Wallace didn’t shy away from owning up to his mistake. Speaking with reporters after the race, the 23XI driver openly admitted his move was ‘greedy’ and unintentional.

🗣️ Wallace on the Contact:
“Yeah, I hate that I got into the No. 6. I didn’t want to get a top-5 finish that way. He was doing everything he was to get down and I got greedy and wanted to fill the hole. I didn’t really think I hit him that hard, but obviously, I did. So I apologize for that.”

While Keselowski has yet to publicly comment, Wallace’s words suggest he knows he owed the RFK Racing driver a cleaner battle.

🚨 Short Track Racing or Over the Line?

Wallace’s bump-and-run wasn’t an isolated incident—Bowman Gray’s tight confines produced plenty of carnage throughout the weekend.

🏁 Kyle Busch vs. Justin Haley: Heated bumper-tag nearly led to a NASCAR penalty.
🏁 Ty Gibbs vs. Justin Haley: Gibbs went airborne after an aggressive retaliation move.
🏁 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. vs. Burt Myers: Local hero’s hopes crushed in LCQ wreck.

Still, Wallace’s hit had major implications, knocking a former Cup champion and race contender out of the running.

📌 Does Bubba Deserve a Pass for the Keselowski Incident?

✅ Classic short-track racing, or did Wallace go too far?
✅ Will Brad Keselowski let it slide—or return the favor at Daytona?

With NASCAR’s first points-paying race just weeks away, all eyes now turn to Daytona, where Keselowski might just have a little payback stored up for Wallace. 🔥
