Max Verstappen, the Dutch Formula 1 driver, is brimming with confidence as he sets his sights on the upcoming race in Barcelona. Despite a disappointing performance in Monaco, where he finished off the podium, Verstappen and his team are optimistic about their chances in Spain.
The Red Bull team will face a crucial weekend in Catalonia as they aim to close the gap with their competitors following a technical directive that will restrict the flexibility of rear wings. Team principal Christian Horner expressed their target of arriving in Barcelona within 25 points of the leader amid the new technical regulations.
Verstappen, a three-time winner at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, is determined to continue his success at the track and is eager to showcase the best version of himself. With the circuit’s long curves and high-speed corners, Verstappen believes that Barcelona suits his driving style and is confident of a stronger performance compared to Monaco.
“I think we should be more comfortable with the car and therefore more competitive. At Barcelona, I won my first Formula 1 race, and I hope to bring out the best in ourselves this weekend,” Verstappen stated optimistically.
With the Red Bull team aiming to replicate their performance from Imola, where they were on par with McLaren, all eyes will be on Verstappen as he seeks to clinch another victory and make a significant impact on the championship standings.
