Max Verstappen Unleashes Fury on Monaco GP Regulations, Suggests Outrageous Solution

Max Verstappen, the fiery Red Bull driver, didn’t hold back his frustration after finishing fourth at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. He criticized Formula 1’s attempt to spice up the race with mandatory pit stops and proposed a bizarre solution involving bananas.

Comparing the Monaco race to the popular game “Mario Kart,” Verstappen slammed the three-tyre compound rule that required drivers to make two pit stops during the notoriously processional event. He sarcastically suggested, “Maybe you can throw bananas around. Yeah, I don’t know. Slippery surface.”

Despite a strategic gamble by Red Bull to start on hard tires and delay the final pit stop, Verstappen’s hopes for victory relied on a late red flag that never materialized. The Dutch driver expressed his frustration, stating, “You can’t race here anyway, so it doesn’t matter what you do. One stop, 10 stops.”

Struggling with overtaking difficulties in Monaco, Verstappen briefly led the race towards the end but had to pit on the final lap, dropping to fourth behind Norris, Leclerc, and Piastri. Red Bull’s weaknesses on bumpy tracks were exposed, with Verstappen qualifying fifth and unable to match the pace of the frontrunners.

The fourth-place finish leaves Verstappen 25 points behind championship leader Piastri and 22 points adrift of Norris in the overall standings. As the F1 calendar moves on to the Spanish Grand Prix, Red Bull will be aiming to regain their competitive edge on faster circuits after Monaco’s struggles.

Verstappen’s outspoken criticism of the Monaco GP regulations has sparked debate in the F1 community, with fans and experts questioning the impact of mandatory pit stops on the race’s excitement. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on how Formula 1 addresses these concerns raised by one of its most prominent drivers.
