Verstappen is currently in Bahrain preparing for the first race of the 2024 season, while the Formula 1 community eagerly awaits the outcome of the investigation into Horner’s alleged conduct towards a colleague.
Although Red Bull seems to have built another impressive car this year with the RB20, which caught attention during pre-season testing, the news about Horner is overshadowing everything else.
When asked if Horner’s situation is affecting him, Verstappen stated that he remains solely focused on the performance of the car and his own abilities. He hopes for a quick resolution to the problem, emphasizing the importance of unity within the team for continued success.
Regarding the performance of the RB20 compared to its competitors, Verstappen believes that only time will reveal if they are fast enough. He acknowledges that Bahrain is just one track in a diverse calendar, where they must excel.
Verstappen takes a pragmatic approach, preferring not to dwell on the outcome before each race. He believes that waking up, going to the track, and accepting the result, whether good or bad, will not change his approach.
Having won 19 races in 2023 and secured his third Formula 1 title, Verstappen is determined to secure his fourth consecutive drivers’ crown. However, Horner’s fate could potentially disrupt the reigning champions’ team.
