The three-time Formula 1 world champion, Max Verstappen, switched from the Red Bull race car to the Honda e:Ny1, a fully electric vehicle, to surprise a group of young karting drivers with a surprise encounter.
The Honda e:Ny1 is equipped with an electric motor on the front axle that delivers 204 hp of power and a maximum torque of 310 Nm. The electric motor is powered by a 68.8 kWh capacity battery, which allows a combined WLTP cycle range of up to 412 km.
In a surprise visit, behind the wheel of the electric e:Ny1, Verstappen observed the young drivers on the track and took the opportunity to give advice and share memories from the early days of his career in motorsport.
“Being here at the karting track to see the young ones racing and trying to enter the world of competition is truly fantastic,” said Verstappen. “It was great to see the smiles and it’s always good to interact with racing fans.”, Verstappen stated.
