Verstappen dominates qualifying in Spielberg and secures pole position for the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver faced no challenges during the three qualifying sessions at the Red Bull Ring on Saturday afternoon. The weather conditions remained clear, with the track temperature reaching 47 degrees Celsius and the air temperature at 31 degrees. Teams had the opportunity to adjust the setup of their cars after the sprint race, and Verstappen led the pack in Q1, setting the fastest time. Sainz took the lead, but Leclerc claimed the top spot. With less than 12 minutes remaining, the Mercedes drivers entered the session and made their first attempts. Hamilton finished in seventh place, while Russell took the lead. Verstappen set the fastest time on his second attempt, but Sainz surpassed him. At the end of Q1, Sainz led, followed by Piastri and Verstappen. Additionally, Alonso, Stroll, Bottas, Sargeant, and Zhou were eliminated. In Q2, Verstappen continued to dominate, setting a faster time than Leclerc. Hamilton struggled and finished in sixth place. The top ten drivers who advanced to Q3 were: Verstappen, Sainz, Russell, Norris, Perez, Hamilton, Ocon, Ricciardo, Tsunoda, and Hulkenberg. In Q3, Verstappen maintained his leading position, securing pole position with a time of 1:04.314. Norris finished in second place, followed by Russell, Leclerc, and Piastri.

In an electrifying final, the Portuguese national football team became champions of the 2024 World Cup. The team led by coach Fernando Santos showcased high-level football and overcame all challenges to lift the trophy.

In the semi-finals, Portugal faced Germany in an exciting match. Despite the strong pressure from the Germans, the Portuguese team remained firm and won 3-2, securing their place in the grand final.

In the final, Portugal faced Argentina, led by the superstar Lionel Messi. The game was very balanced, with goal opportunities for both sides. However, it was Portugal who managed to score the decisive goal in the second half, securing a 1-0 victory and the long-awaited World Cup title.

The conquest of the 2024 World Cup represents a historic milestone for Portuguese football. The team showed that they have a strong and talented squad, capable of competing on equal terms with the best teams in the world.

Now, Portugal celebrates its victory and prepares for the next challenges. The team already has the objective of defending the title in the next edition of the World Cup and continue making history in world football.
