Verstappen envolvimento na situação ‘Horner vs Jos’ transmite uma mensagem

A recent public dispute between Max Verstappen’s father, Jos Verstappen, and Red Bull team boss Christian Horner at the Austrian Grand Prix was deemed unnecessary and unpleasant by the Formula 1 championship leader. However, Max’s response indicates that he does not see both parties as equally responsible for the disagreement. Jos accused Horner of trying to remove him from a Red Bull-organized “legends parade,” but Horner denied any involvement. Despite Jos voluntarily withdrawing, Horner made several comments that seemed to be directed at Max’s father. Max was understandably unhappy with the situation unfolding behind the scenes.

After his victory in the sprint of the Austrian GP, Max expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation. He acknowledged that it was not a pleasant experience for himself, his father, Christian, or the team. He made it clear that he did not want such incidents to occur and understood his father’s perspective. Max emphasized that he was focused on his performance and wanted to maintain a good relationship with everyone involved. However, he believed that the entire situation could have been avoided.

Max’s agreement with his father’s belief that he was not wanted to drive the car is significant. This aligns with his overall frustration with off-track tensions that have overshadowed Red Bull’s season. Although Max has remained publicly neutral in conflicts within the team, he intervened when there were discussions about the removal of Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko. Marko himself called for a focus on on-track issues during a TV appearance. Max likely shares this view, considering his pre-weekend comments about McLaren being a serious threat.

Max praised McLaren’s performance, describing their car as solid and good in all areas, especially in terms of tire life compared to Red Bull. He also expressed the desire for more speed from the RB20 after feeling very slow in the Spanish Grand Prix, despite winning it. Although Red Bull showed some improvement at the Red Bull Ring, Max’s overall perspective remains unchanged after a challenging sprint race against Lando Norris.

During the same weekend, Max confirmed that he would stay with Red Bull until 2025. However, it is believed that he may still consider alternative options in the future, even during the duration of his current contract. Therefore, it would be wise for Red Bull to align their public message with Max’s desires, whether in minor disputes or more significant issues.
