Formula 1 racing superstar, Max Verstappen, has echoed the sentiments voiced by the FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, on the topic of reintroducing V10 engines into the sport. However, Verstappen has expressed his belief that these discussions should remain confidential and be conducted away from the public eye.

In a turn of events earlier this year, Ben Sulayem publicly stated his desire to see Formula 1 make the transition back to V10 engines. This was coupled with his advocacy for these power units to operate on sustainable fuels. His comments, expressed via social media, have sparked a lively debate among fans and insiders alike, given that these engine configurations have not been featured in the sport since 2005.

Max Verstappen, always a prominent voice within the Formula 1 community, has now thrown his weight behind Ben Sulayem’s suggestion. This marks a significant development, considering Verstappen’s influence and standing within the sport. His agreement with the FIA president significantly strengthens the case for the potential return of V10 engines.

However, Verstappen’s endorsement of the idea came with a caveat. He emphasized that these conversations should be held in private, away from the scrutiny and speculation of the public and media. His stance suggests a preference for thoughtful, closed-door policy-making over public discourse.

This story serves as an example of the ongoing evolution and debate within Formula 1, a sport renowned for its technological advancements and the passion of its participants and followers. The potential return of V10 engines, combined with the push for sustainable fuels, could mark a significant shift in the sport’s future direction.

It remains to be seen how this discussion will progress and what impact Verstappen’s support will have on the final decision. However, one thing is clear: the future of Formula 1 is always subject to change, and this potential shift back to V10 engines is a testament to that fact.
