Vasseur: Suzuka representa um desafio difícil para os veículos.

Ferrari arrives in Japan with a positive outlook after their impressive performance at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne two weeks ago. Carlos Sainz secured the win in the race, with Charles Leclerc finishing just behind him. Unfortunately, Max Verstappen experienced a brake failure, resulting in a Did Not Finish (DNF) result. However, Red Bull remains confident in the capabilities of the RB20 in Suzuka, presenting a significant challenge for Ferrari as they seek to overcome the current F1 champions on Sunday. Nevertheless, Ferrari’s recent triumph undeniably boosted morale in Maranello.

In a preview of the Ferrari race, team boss Vasseur expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “Our one-two finish in Australia has given us momentum as we head to Japan. That winning feeling only motivates us to work even harder, aiming to relive it as soon as possible.” Vasseur also emphasized the demanding nature of the Suzuka track, which is highly favored by both cars and drivers.

Regarding expectations for the Japanese Grand Prix, Vasseur commented: “We believe we have a competitive package, but we recognize the need to execute flawlessly to surpass our rivals. As always in Japan, and especially this year, as we race in Suzuka in early spring for the first time, weather conditions may play a role. However, we have made meticulous preparations for this potential scenario at our factory and are determined to be at the forefront of the race.”

In the current 2024 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship, Ferrari currently holds the second position, behind Red Bull Racing. Their impressive one-two finish in Australia narrowed the gap to the leaders to just four points. In the 2023 Japanese Grand Prix, Leclerc and Sainz secured fourth and sixth places, respectively, while Verstappen emerged victorious.
