Vandoorne Predicts Verstappen’s Dominance to Continue in 2025, Despite Rising Competition

Stoffel Vandoorne, former F1 driver and keen observer of the sport, has doubled down on his belief that Max Verstappen will continue his incredible form into the 2025 season. Even after defying the odds in 2024 with an inferior Red Bull chassis, Verstappen showcased a championship-winning pace that left his rivals in awe.

Verstappen’s 2024 Heroics: Outpacing the Fastest Chassis

While McLaren fielded the fastest car on the grid and narrowly clinched the Constructors’ Championship over Ferrari, they failed to translate that dominance into a drivers’ title. Lando Norris, despite his lightning pace early in the season, faltered under pressure during key moments, allowing Verstappen to capitalize.

“Max didn’t drop points like Lando did. Even when Red Bull was off the pace, he was always there, ready to maximize results,” Vandoorne emphasized. “No one should doubt that Verstappen will bring the same level of performance next year.”

2025: A Tighter Battlefield Awaits

With 2025 marking the final season of the current ground-effect regulations, Vandoorne expects the competition to tighten significantly. He pointed to Mercedes and Ferrari as dark horses ready to upset the Verstappen-Norris duel.

“You can already see how fast Ferrari and Mercedes have become toward the end of 2024. Winning the title will be even harder for everyone next year,” Vandoorne noted.

McLaren vs. Red Bull: A Rivalry to Watch

The Verstappen-Norris rivalry will undoubtedly be the focal point of the 2025 season. While Red Bull needs to address its chassis issues to start the season strong, McLaren must avoid the inconsistencies that plagued them in 2024.

McLaren’s mission: Convert their raw pace into consistent results while ensuring Norris doesn’t succumb to errors in critical moments.
Red Bull’s challenge: Bring their chassis performance closer to McLaren’s level while maintaining Verstappen’s razor-sharp consistency.

The Final Year of Ground-Effect Glory

As teams push their cars to the absolute limits of the current regulations, the stakes couldn’t be higher. With Mercedes and Ferrari making rapid strides, the 2025 title fight promises to be a season-long thriller.

For Verstappen, however, Vandoorne believes the formula for success remains the same:
“Max is always ready, always consistent. If Red Bull gives him a slightly better car, the competition will have an even tougher time catching him.”

Fan Favorites and Unpredictable Drama

With Verstappen’s relentless pace and McLaren’s blistering chassis speed, fans are gearing up for another unforgettable season. However, with the field closer than ever and multiple teams poised to peak, nothing is guaranteed—except for drama, rivalries, and high-octane action.

Who will reign supreme in 2025? Will Verstappen continue his dominance, or will Norris and McLaren finally fulfill their potential? Stay tuned. The final year of ground-effect racing could be one for the history books.
