Renger van der Zande finished at the top of the leaderboard in an interrupted FP3 session at Sebring, which concluded with the third red flag at the end of the session. The #01 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R, driven by Chip Ganassi, was the fastest in the only night session, providing teams with valuable data for the final hours of the race. The LMP2 cars caused some interruptions, but the #01 Cadillac GTP was the fastest for the second time after van der Zande led the first free practice session. The debut of the Lamborghini SC63 #63 had a moment off track at turn 3, but continued without major issues. The Acura #40 WTRAndretti did not complete any laps due to an engine change. Van der Zande set the fastest lap time of 1:49.179, with Augusto Farfus in the BMW M Hybrid V8 #24 in second place with a time of 1:49.437. Filipe Albuquerque in the Acura #10 WTRAndretti came in third with a time of 1:49.644. Tom Blomqvist in the Cadillac Racing V-Series.R #31 Wehlen finished fourth with a time of 1:49.755, and Mathieu Jaminet in the Porsche Penske 963 #6 came in fifth with a time of 1:49.869. The session had a brief red flag when the Ligier JS P217 LMP2 #33 from Sean Creech Motorsport stopped on track at turn 8. Another red flag was triggered when the Oreca 07 #52 PR1 Mathiasen by Inter Europol made contact with the McLaren 720S GT3 EVO #70 from Inception Racing at turn 7, causing the McLaren to spin. The third and final red flag occurred minutes before the scheduled end of the session, when the Oreca 07 #04 Crowdstrike Racing by APR, driven by Colin Braun, stopped at Sunset Bend, the final corner. The #04 is currently in second place in the LMP2 standings and has the opportunity to reduce the 20-point gap to the Oreca #18 from Era Motorsport this weekend. Mikkel Jensen in the Oreca 07 #11 from TDS Racing was the fastest in the LMP2 category with a lap time of 1:51.497. Paul-Loup Chatin in the Oreca #99 AO Racing ‘Spike the Dragon’ came in second with a time of 1:51.504, and Ben Hanley in the Oreca 07 #2 from United Autosports USA came in third with a time of 1:52.390. Ford Multimatic Motorsports, which did not record lap times during FP2, managed to do so during FP3. The Ford Mustang GT3 #65 went off track at turn 16, but continued without damage. Earl Bamber in the Corvette Z06 GT3.R #4 finished first in the GTD Pro category with a time of 2:00.790. Neil Verhagen in the BMW M4 #1 from Paul Miller Racing came in second with a time of 2:01.109. ‘Rexy’ the Porsche #77 from AO Racing finished third in GTD Pro with a time of 2:01.308. In the GTD category, the only notable incident was when the McLaren from Inception Racing spun at turn 7 due to a supposed contact with the LMP2 #52. Antonio Fuoco in the Ferrari 296 GT3 #47 from Cetilar Racing was the fastest in GTD with a time of 2:00.991. Philip Ellis in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #57 from Winward Racing came in second with a time of 2:01.008. Elliott Skeer in the Porsche 911 GT3 R #120 from Wright Motorsports finished third with a time of 2:01.192.
