Valtteri Bottas embarks on thrilling new journey as Cadillac driver: a fresh start in F1

Valtteri Bottas Launches New Chapter as Cadillac Driver: A Thrilling Shift in Formula 1!

In an exhilarating turn of events, Finnish racing sensation Valtteri Bottas has officially embarked on a groundbreaking journey as a driver for the American powerhouse, Cadillac. The dramatic transition follows the conclusion of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which marked the end of the 2025 Formula 1 season. Bottas, who served as a reserve driver for Mercedes last year, is now ready to make his mark as Cadillac gears up for its debut in the F1 grid next year.

As the 11th team to join the illustrious ranks of the Formula 1 circus, Cadillac has set its sights high, banking on Bottas’ extensive experience alongside Mexican driver Sergio Perez. While Perez has already acclimatized to the new team environment after being released from his previous commitments, Bottas had to exercise patience, waiting several months before stepping into his role. But the wait is over! The former Williams, Mercedes, and Sauber driver recently visited the team’s state-of-the-art facility and completed the crucial “seat fitting” test, a pivotal step in his transition.

Time is of the essence, as the first official tests for the 2026 season kick off in Barcelona on January 26. Bottas expressed his excitement and pride in joining the Cadillac team, stating, “I am thrilled to finally start working as a driver for Cadillac. This moment is special, marking the beginning of a new chapter for a team that is just starting its journey in this sport.”

The 2019 and 2020 vice-world champion emphasized the importance of preparation, declaring, “We have a lot of work ahead of us, and I am eager to leverage my experience for the team now that I am fully part of it. Witnessing everything come together for the first time in a brand-new team is extraordinary and highlights the momentum of this project. It is crucial to prepare well because these moments are truly the first steps toward being ready for the first test. I can hardly wait for the season to begin and to get back to racing!”

Bottas’ transition to Cadillac is not just a career move; it’s a bold statement that the Finnish driver is ready to embrace new challenges and contribute significantly to the team’s success. With the eyes of the racing world upon him, Bottas is primed to turn the page and write a new, thrilling chapter in his illustrious career. As the countdown to the 2026 season begins, fans are left eagerly anticipating what this dynamic partnership will bring to the track!
