“Cupra Born updated in 2026.”

Cupra Born atualizado em 2026

Cupra is experiencing a particularly happy moment, after a year in 2025 in which, according to official data from ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers Association), it sold 249,179 vehicles in the European Union, an increase of 35.8% compared to 2024, making it, by far, the fastest-growing brand within the VW Group during this period. It is therefore not surprising that the leaders of the Catalan company approach the year 2026 with great enthusiasm, supported by two highly significant 100% electric launches for the Seat subsidiary: the brand-new Raval, the model that will represent entry into Cupra’s emission-free range, as well as the update of the Born, the first model exclusively powered by battery from the Spanish brand.

Markus Haupt, CEO of Cupra, in an interview with the British publication Auto Express, acknowledged the importance of the new Raval in the brand’s strategy that he leads: “The Raval should drive us forward, because that is the only way we can meet our CO2 emissions targets. In cities, where this factor is even more important, we are really confident that this car can represent a significant turning point”. The top executive of the Spanish manufacturer also acknowledges that, “in some markets, we need to fight for an increase in electric vehicle sales. We realize that some countries are struggling with the adoption of electric mobility, and that is something we need to change. The European Commission, and particularly the countries, must adopt policies that promote decarbonization, and maintain them”.

However, Cupra’s electric news for 2026 also includes a significant evolution of its first 100% electric model, the Born, which will feature a renewed design at the front and rear, incorporating, for example, the brand’s new light signature, with overlapping triangles. In addition, the range will also be strengthened with the introduction of a new entry-level variant, equipped with an LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery, the capacity of which has not yet been announced.
