BYD is working on the renewal of the Dolphin, the compact family model with two and a half volumes and five doors, which is 100% electric.
The updated model, which has now been spotted testing in China, has a length of 4280 mm, a width of 1770 mm, a height of 1570 mm, and a wheelbase of 2700 mm, according to data from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Additionally, according to “CarNewsChina“, there are design changes compared to the current model, particularly in the front section, which features a new light signature with headlights in a slightly different shape.
In profile view, the updated Dolphin appears to have no changes, which is not the case for the rear section, where the redesigned bumper is the highlight.
Currently, all versions of the Dolphin use batteries with capacities of 44.9 kWh or 60.4 kWh, and the Chinese press reports that the renewal of the compact family model is not expected to include new batteries or more powerful electric motors.
However, we will have to wait a few more months to learn all the technical details of the revamped Dolphin and to find out if the model will be available in Europe or if it will be exclusively aimed at the Chinese market.
