The Formula 1 2025 pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit was a spectacle to behold, brimming with action and suspense. The three-day event saw our valiant drivers challenging the boundaries of speed, offering a thrilling preview of what’s to come in this year’s Middle East chapter of the esteemed Formula 1 championship.

As the dust settled on the final day, February 28, it was George Russell who emerged triumphant. The British driver showcased a stunning performance, outpacing four-time world champion Max Verstappen and securing the top spot on the timing sheets. Verstappen, despite a commendable effort, was relegated to the second position, while Alex Albon sealed the third place, setting the stage for a riveting showdown at the upcoming 2025 Australian Grand Prix.

The second day was dominated by Carlos Sainz, while the McLaren MCL38’s Lando Norris stole the limelight on the inaugural day of the testing with a remarkable performance. These events served as a pulse-raising preamble, as teams gauged their prowess and tested their limits in preparation for the impending season.

The lap times recorded during the pre-season testing are pivotal. They offer teams a yardstick of their speed, setting the tone for the competitive season ahead. From the electrifying duel between Russell and Verstappen on the final day to the formidable performances from Williams, Alpine, and others, the anticipation for the forthcoming season has reached a fever pitch.

As we bid farewell to the pre-season testing, let’s take a look at the fastest lap times set by each driver:

Carlos Sainz from Williams clinched the top spot with a time of 1:29.348, closely followed by Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton clocking in at 1:29.379. The third position was secured by Charles Leclerc from Ferrari with a time of 1:29.431. Mercedes’ George Russell and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen trailed closely, recording times of 1:29.545 and 1:29.566, respectively. Other noteworthy performances included Alex Albon from Williams (1:29.650), Oscar Piastri from McLaren (1:29.740), and Kimi Antonelli from Mercedes (1:29.784).

The question of who set the fastest lap during the F1 2025 testing has been answered. Now, the world eagerly awaits the start of a new, exciting season, where these champions will once again put their skills to the ultimate test. The anticipation is palpable, and the thrill of Formula 1 is indeed in the air.
