Vasser Sullivan Racing: The Unstoppable Force at Long Beach

In a display of sheer dominance, Vasser Sullivan Racing once again showcased their prowess at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, solidifying their reputation as the team to beat. Parker Thompson, behind the wheel of the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3, secured the pole position for the third round of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, marking the team’s third consecutive pole at Long Beach.

With a history of back-to-back wins at this iconic circuit, Vasser Sullivan Racing is no stranger to success at Long Beach. Last year, Ben Barnicoat and Parker Thompson clinched victory in the GTD class, following Jack Hawksworth and Barnicoat’s triumph in the GTD PRO category in 2023. The team’s remarkable performance extends beyond just pole positions, with their strategic approach to racing proving to be a winning formula.

Thompson’s stellar performance in qualifying saw him edge out fierce competitors Jonny Edgar and Tom Gamble by the slimmest of margins, securing the coveted inside position on the front row for the upcoming 100-minute race. Clocking a blistering lap time of 1 minute 17.877 seconds, Thompson left his rivals trailing behind, highlighting his exceptional skill behind the wheel.

Reflecting on the team’s success, Thompson attributed their performance to meticulous preparation and the Lexus RC F GT3’s exceptional performance on the Long Beach circuit. With Jimmy Vasser’s expertise and the team’s unwavering dedication, Vasser Sullivan Racing has established itself as a formidable force in the GTD class.

The intense competition at Long Beach was evident as seven drivers posted lap times within half a second of Thompson’s pole-winning run. However, a penalty for Robert Wickens, who caused a red flag during practice, shuffled the starting grid, setting the stage for a thrilling battle on race day.

As Vasser Sullivan Racing continues to reign supreme at Long Beach, their rivals are left scrambling to catch up. With a winning legacy and a drive for excellence, Vasser Sullivan Racing shows no signs of slowing down. Stay tuned as the action unfolds at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, where speed, skill, and determination collide on the iconic streets of California.
