Blaney’s comments came during a playful discussion about which dinosaur he would like to be, with options ranging from the feared velociraptor to the gentle giant brachiosaurus. The Team Penske driver also confessed his love for the iconic dinosaur movie, Jurassic Park, which he admitted terrified him as a child.
The 31-year-old racer pondered on the impact dinosaurs would have on modern society, stating, “Thank god those things aren’t around anymore – we would not be a species if they were. If dinosaurs were still around, we would not have the infrastructure that we have today, like we’d still be in caves.”
Despite his initial hesitation, Blaney eventually revealed his dinosaur of choice, citing the velociraptor and the long-necked herbivores as his preferred picks. His humorous struggle to recall the name of the long-necked dinosaurs provided a light-hearted moment during the interview.

Team Penske unveiled the striking Bodyarmour Sports Drink-themed livery of Blaney’s #12 car for the race, featuring Frozen Cherry, Frozen Orange, and Frozen Berry flavors. This collaboration marks the first partnership between Blaney and the beverage company since 2017.
