Young NASCAR sensation Carson Hocevar didn’t hold back his true feelings after a tumultuous run at the NASCAR All-Star Open event at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Despite his stellar performance in the qualifying race leading up to the main All-Star Race, Hocevar openly expressed his dissatisfaction with his car’s performance.

Securing an impressive second place in the Open race’s qualifying round, Hocevar, driving the #77 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Spire Motorsports, showcased his skills by leading 46 laps and clinching victory. This win earned him a spot in the prestigious All-Star Race alongside fellow racer John Hunter Nemechek.

However, Hocevar didn’t mince words when assessing his car’s performance, stating, “I didn’t really like it, but it’s a good sign that we didn’t like it and we were still pretty quick there.” Despite the win, he acknowledged the team’s need to fine-tune the vehicle for future races.

The young driver’s journey in the 2024 Cup Series has been a rollercoaster of successes and challenges. With notable achievements such as a pole position, a Top 5 finish, and leading 36 laps, Hocevar has proven his talent on the track. Nonetheless, three Did Not Finishes (DNFs) have hindered his overall performance, leaving him in 19th place in the driver standings.

Transitioning from a part-time role in 2023 to a full-time commitment with Spire Motorsports in 2024, Hocevar’s dedication to the sport is evident. As he continues to hone his skills and strive for excellence, fans eagerly anticipate his future performances on the NASCAR circuit.
