Liam Lawson, the rising star in Formula 1, achieved a remarkable career-first by outshining none other than the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen. The Hungarian Grand Prix witnessed a jaw-dropping moment as Lawson managed to keep Verstappen at bay, leaving fans and experts stunned.

Starting from ninth on the grid, just behind Verstappen, Lawson initially lost his position to the Red Bull driver in the early stages of the race. However, a strategic pit stop by Red Bull saw Verstappen drop to P16, giving Lawson the opening he needed to secure an impressive eighth-place finish, with Verstappen trailing 3.2 seconds behind.

This victory marks the first time in the 2025 season that Lawson has crossed the finish line ahead of Verstappen, showcasing his undeniable talent and potential in the sport. Moreover, it also signifies a milestone for the young New Zealander, as he scored points in consecutive races for the first time in his F1 career.

The Racing Bulls driver credited his team’s exceptional car performance and tire management skills for his success on the track, emphasizing the importance of a strong long-run pace in competitive races.

With a recent string of strong finishes, including a sixth place in Belgium, Lawson’s confidence has been on the rise, aided by crucial upgrades to the front suspension of his car. The young driver’s relentless determination and skill behind the wheel have not gone unnoticed, positioning him as a formidable contender in the F1 circuit.

As the F1 season unfolds, all eyes will be on Liam Lawson as he continues to defy expectations and challenge the established order of the sport. With each race, he proves that he is a force to be reckoned with, leaving fans and rivals alike in awe of his remarkable talent and unwavering drive for success.
