Unforeseen Triumph: Charles Leclerc Shocks in Bahrain F1 Qualifying
In a jaw-dropping turn of events at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc expressed his astonishment at clinching a top 3 position during the qualifying session. The Ferrari driver admitted that he did not anticipate such a stellar performance, attributing the success to recent upgrades on the car.
Leclerc highlighted the impact of Ferrari’s recent upgrades on the afternoon’s outcome, acknowledging that the Bahrain circuit might not have been the most favorable track for implementing these changes. Despite the challenges, his third-place finish signifies a potential turning point for Ferrari:
“Frankly, I was not expecting third place. I knew there was still some time to gain in Q3. I had to be patient in Q1 and Q2, waiting for the track to suit us. It was a bit tricky because at the start of Q3, the feelings were terrible with the old tires, but once we put on the new ones, it was a bit better. I am happy. I wasn’t expecting it, but I think it’s the result of… exploring many extreme setups in recent weekends and it seems like I found my way. And gradually, I hope it will be possible to extract more performance from the car in the upcoming weekends.”
Leclerc also praised the team’s dedication to bringing these improvements to the car, emphasizing that while Bahrain may not have been the ideal testing ground for upgrades, every bit of progress counts:
“The team has worked immensely hard to bring these improvements here. I don’t think it’s the best track to make upgrades, but it’s always good. It’s a small gain, not a big one, but I hope that next week it will be a slightly bigger step. If today we are P3, especially considering the narrow margins of P3, the upgrades have helped.”
The unexpected success of Charles Leclerc in the Bahrain F1 qualifying session has ignited excitement and speculation about Ferrari’s potential for the upcoming race. Stay tuned as the drama unfolds on the track, promising thrills and surprises at every turn.
