Nissan Unveils Fifth-Gen R34 Skyline GT-R: A True Performance Beast

Nissan has once again proven its expertise in the automotive industry with the release of the fifth-generation R34 Skyline GT-R. This new model boasts a shorter body, reduced front overhang, and increased rigidity compared to its predecessor. As a driver, you’ll be thrilled by the inclusion of a 5.8″ LCD multifunction display that provides real-time readings on turbocharger pressure and temperatures.

Among the various limited edition variants produced by Nissan, the V-Spec N1 stands out with its unique features. This “homologation special” model, of which only 38 units were made, does away with luxuries such as air conditioning, audio equipment, and even a rear wiper. While most of these cars found their way into the hands of racing teams and tuning garages, a lucky few individual customers managed to acquire them.

Prepare to be amazed as we introduce a stunning white V-Spec N1 model, valued at a staggering price comparable to some of today’s top supercars. This particular car was sold for an impressive $325,000, and it’s easy to see why when you take a closer look (if you’re familiar with GT-Rs, that is).

Featuring an adjustable rear wing, black-painted mirrors, xenon headlights, custom color-matched Nismo-style side skirt extensions, black 19″ Nismo alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza rubber, BC Racing adjustable coilovers, and an R35 big brake kit with gold-painted Brembo calipers, this GT-R is a sight to behold. Inside, you’ll find manually adjustable sport seats, Nismo-branded floor mats, a resin-wrapped armrest and handbrake lever, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with red contrast stitching, and a replacement Nismo gauge cluster. It’s worth noting that this car is right-hand-drive, which only adds to its uniqueness.

While lacking a radio and air conditioning, these omissions are what make this car truly special. Its new owner surely appreciates its raw and focused driving experience.

Under the hood, this GT-R is powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.6-liter RB26DETT inline-six engine, factory-rated at 276 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The power is transmitted to the wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, ensuring an exhilarating performance on the road.

Is this the best-looking R34 GT-R? It’s certainly a strong contender. Few fifth-generation GT-R models can rival the beauty of this stunning white specimen. However, we must not forget the Midnight Purple R34 we featured last year, which sold for $96,000.

Personally, I believe the Midnight Purple model had a more striking appearance due to its captivating color scheme. Nevertheless, this white V-Spec N1 is undeniably the more desirable specification.
