Tyler Reddick makes history with stunning three-peat, channeling Michael Jordan’s legendary legacy

Tyler Reddick: The New King of the Track with a Historic Three-Peat

In a jaw-dropping display of racing prowess, Tyler Reddick has officially channeled the legendary Michael Jordan by achieving a stunning three-peat in the NASCAR Cup Series! This remarkable feat was solidified during the race at the Circuit of the Americas, where Reddick not only captured the checkered flag but did so with the flair and excellence reminiscent of Jordan's championship runs with the Chicago Bulls.

Before the adrenaline-fueled race, the iconic basketball legend reached out to Reddick, reminding him that ‘three-peats’ are his signature move. Jordan, the ultimate competitor, led the Bulls to consecutive championships in 1991-1993 and 1996-1998, and now it seems Reddick is following in those illustrious footsteps. “He reminded me early this week that he does things in threes,” Reddick stated. “I was really glad to be able to live up to the standards that he has for us and be able to deliver three in a row. That was really cool to share that moment with him.”

This electrifying victory marks Reddick’s third consecutive win to kick off the 2026 season, following his triumphs at the Daytona 500 and Atlanta Motor Speedway. What makes this achievement even more astonishing is the variety of tracks on which he secured these victories: from superspeedways to intermediate tracks and road courses, Reddick has proven he can conquer them all. Denny Hamlin, his team owner and rival driver, expressed pure admiration, declaring, “It’s unbelievable. I’m not going to see it again in my lifetime, someone to go out there and win three races in a row to start the season.”

Reddick’s latest conquest at a road course was no small feat. He outperformed Shane Van Gisbergen, who was on a quest for an impressive record of his own—tying Jeff Gordon with six consecutive road course victories. The race was a nail-biter, presenting a classic showdown of irresistible force versus immovable object. “This is pretty crazy,” Reddick reflected. “I think it's so fitting that it had to happen coming into here, a place where I got my first pole years ago.”

As the race unfolded, Reddick found himself battling fiercely with Van Gisbergen, who initially surged ahead. However, a perfect restart allowed Reddick to reclaim his position and fend off his rival. “I just had a feeling at the end there I was going to see Shane at some point,” Reddick admitted, showcasing not only his confidence but also his strategic racing savvy. “To be able to hold off Shane at the end of that race to make it three in a row, yeah, it seems just very fitting that we had to go through the hurdles we did.”

What’s particularly noteworthy is that Reddick’s victories come during an era where racing equipment is standardized, making his success all the more impressive. Denny Hamlin praised Reddick's growth, stating, “He’s complete… He’s got a lot of really good things going on. I think it’s just—we’re steadily seeing him continue to get better.”

However, there's still room for improvement. Reddick acknowledged that short tracks have been a challenge for him, despite his team’s efforts to enhance performance. “In my opinion, we go to the spring Phoenix race, we're typically, like, right there,” Reddick explained, revealing his determination to tackle weaknesses head-on as they prepare for upcoming races.

This monumental victory isn’t solely a personal triumph for Reddick; it’s also a cause for celebration for Hamlin and the entire 23XI Racing team. Michael Jordan, who serves as the financial backbone of the team, expressed pride in their accomplishments, emphasizing the collaborative effort behind their success. “I’m proud of the team that we’ve put together,” Jordan said. “A lot of credit goes to Denny because I think he’s the mastermind behind finding Tyler and putting together Billy Scott.”

Indeed, Hamlin’s vision for 23XI Racing has come to fruition, showcasing the fruits of hard work and determination as they watch their drivers dominate the standings. “When I started kicking around trying to find a race team… I wanted to make sure if it failed, it was because of something I did,” Hamlin revealed. The partnership with Jordan has allowed him the autonomy to build something from the ground up, and now they’re reaping the rewards.

As Reddick continues to blaze a trail, he currently holds a stunning 70-point lead over his competitors, including Bubba Wallace and Chase Elliott. With the points reset looming, Reddick remains focused, stating, “We'll just manage it lap after lap, corner after corner.” His commitment to racing smart and maintaining speed positions him as a formidable contender for the championship.

Tyler Reddick’s three-peat is more than just a series of victories; it’s a testament to his skill, determination, and the legacy of greatness he is crafting in the world of NASCAR. As the season unfolds, fans and competitors alike will be watching closely to see if this young driver can maintain his momentum and make history.
